To visit Coimbra is to make history come alive, taking partin some of the country's oldest traditions and discovering the treasures of our past. From the ruins of Conímbriga to the most travelled Portuguese ay of Santiago that passes through Coimbra, to the annual Serenade in what is known as the City of Students, the most curious travellers have a unique opportunity in this region to be part of History through century-old rituals, stunning monuments and magical places.

At Cais Parque Verde, start a boat trip on the Mondego River, which is the fifth largest Portuguese river and the first with its course entirely in Portugal. It rises in Serra da Estrela, crosses the city of Coimbra, and has its mouth in the Atlantic Ocean, next to the city of Figueira da Foz. In total it has a length of approximately 258.3 kilometres.

By bus, go from Coimbra to the city of Aveiro, which has a unique natural and urban landscape, dominated by the Ria de Aveiro and the bodies of water that penetrate the urban space and that have permanently marked the history, heritage, culture and local identity.
On board one of the typical boats, where the Moliceiro boat stands out, take the opportunity to discover the city through the canals which, at sunset, turn from silver to gold with the reflection of the sun's rays. Enjoy this boat trip on Ria de Aveiro.
It is also worth appreciating, on a walking tour, the set of buildings in the “Arte Nouveau” style that distinguished the Municipality as the city-museum of Art Nouveau in Portugal. The location of the buildings is indicated on the Available Route, a pedestrian route designed to help you identify all the buildings and monuments from this seductive period of 20th century art, which departs from the Art Nouveau Museum dedicated to it.
